Accurate Location on Site
The model of the house on the left is "before" putting on an addition. We can use Google Maps to geolocate the project.
- some of the terrain (grading of the site) is automatically included in the map.
- map features and satellite data can both be shown in the project to help develop a site plan.
- Position of the sun and shadows is accurate at any time of day, on any date
3D models for virtual walk-through
Once 3D models are made, walk through the project:
- Check the layout
- Check furniture spacings, kitchen cabinet choices, etc., in 3D.
Sectional Views
All the views - internal and external - are made from the same model.
3D sections help to check the "flow" of the completed space and can be easier to visualize than 2D drawings
Construction Plans
For permit applications and for construction, 2D plans are required. Again, these are generated from the same model.
- Detailed drawings - elevations, plans and sections - to define how the project is to be completed.
- Contractors need details to ensure they can price the job accurately.
- Code requirements specified to ensure a compliant job suitable for the intended use.
